Sonya Wyche

Sonya Wyche is currently a Life Coach at Safe Haven Counseling Center. She is in the transition of acquiring the state licensing to be classified as an LPC-A. She obtained a M.Ed. from Lamar University in December 2021in Counseling and Development – Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling. Sonya also has a M.Ed. in School Counseling from University of St. Thomas and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Houston – Clear Lake. She is presently a School Counselor at a middle school campus. Previously, Sonya was a School Counselor at an elementary campus for the past six years.

Sonya is committed and passionate about the therapy process. She works with individuals and families who are experiencing marital / relationship issues, family conflict, grief, loss, trauma, depression, anxiety, suicide ideation, and abuse. Her goal as a counselor is to assist in improving the well-being of individuals. She is an affiliated member with Open Path. Some of her therapeutic approaches include Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
